Job Summary:
As an Account Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in steering our account teams and nurturing client relationships to ensure strategic and operational excellence. We believe in player-coach leadership at Bear Icebox. There will be times when you will need to jump in and support the team and accounts at a very tactical (meaning writing news releases, sending pitches, building media lists). You will also need to be able to identify when the team is struggling as well as identify their unique skills and nurture their career development. Your success in this role is dependent upon the success of your team and the success of client programs.
Your responsibility is to grow accounts and ensure clients and our team receive the support and value they need. With your proven track record in B2B communications, you will oversee projects that span across various industries, providing leadership and strategic guidance to your teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a dynamic team consisting of Account Managers and Account Coordinators, promoting an environment of collaboration and growth.
- Meet on a regular basis with the senior leadership of Bear Icebox
- Organize and manage internal team meetings
- Develop comprehensive communication strategies and plans that align with client objectives and drive visible results.
- Serve as the primary contact for key clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and proactive solutions.
- Oversee the execution of communication campaigns, from planning to implementation, ensuring they meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget requirements.
- Roll up your sleeves as a player-coach to ensure we meet deadlines and client expectations
- Work closely with senior leadership as needed on new business development opportunities
- Evaluate workload of the team and proactively plan how the team will allocate resources on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Analyze data and campaign performance to refine strategies and report back to clients with insightful recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to harness innovative solutions that enhance client satisfaction.
- Foster a team culture that upholds the agency’s values and encourages professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a public relations or communications role, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams with a collaborative and inspirational approach.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with a knack for problem-solving and adaptability.
- Exceptional communication skills—both oral and written—with an aptitude for building rapport with clients and team members.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and analytics software.
- Understanding and interest in leveraging new AI tools to enhance agency efficiency and outcomes.
- Experience with project management and adept at managing hybrid work teams proactively.
- Demonstrated experience and keen interest in new business development.
