The problem
Acrelec is a company that provides digital solutions such as self-service kiosks and digital menus to the food service industry to improve customer experience and efficiency. They came to Bear Icebox in 2020 as a brand headquartered in France but looking to increase their exposure here in the U.S. Already with an office in Chicago’s West Loop, the brand had a presence but not the kind of attention they needed.
The solution
We developed a PR and thought leadership strategy for Acrelec that focused dually on their expertise as technology consultants in their industry and as product innovators. Working on narratives and story lines, we created news releases, announced partnerships, developed impactful trend analyses and worked with their team to create new product line communications and storyboards for video stories, among other activities.

This restaurant tech client of ours has blossomed in the last 12 months as we’ve blanketed media with 90+ placements and significantly increased social media presence (a 104% increase in impressions on LinkedIn during some monthly periods). Acrelec recently signed a $16 million deal with Burger King and announced a major deal with McDonald’s as one of two premier vendors for kiosks for his restaurant. We’ve worked with a number of major outlets in the restaurant industry including Nation’s Restaurant News, Fast Casual, QSR Web, Restaurant Hospitality and more and national outlets like Wall Street Journal and Reuters.
